Competency Driven Hiring: A Practical Approach

Competency Driven Hiring: A Practical Approach

RAISE THE BAR ON YOUR INTERVIEWING SKILLS!

In the interview phase, potential candidates are usually ready for the standard set of questions, with answers that are typically predictable from candidate to candidate. This means that they don't always provide a true picture of the applicant, their prior performance, the possibility of an organisational fit, or the likelihood of success in the future in the role that they want.

By utilising a competency-based approach, interviews are known to be far more successful in identifying and evaluating the transferable skills, talents, experiences, and mindsets needed for a certain position. The goal of this course is to enhance the participant's self-assurance, competence, and ability to conduct successful and effective competency-based interviews.

This, in turn, will allow participating organisations to derive more value from the interview process and increase the likelihood of selecting the best possible candidate for vacant positions. Moreover, utilising competency-based interviewing techniques can also mitigate some risks associated with the legal, reputational and financial costs many organisations bear as a result of bad hiring decisions.
