ECA Appoints New Chairman The Employers Consultative Association of Trinidad and Tobago (ECA) announces the appointment of a new Chairman and five (5) new Directors to its Board of Directors for the period 2017 to 2020. The appointments were made following elections at the ECA’s 57th Annual General Meeting, which took place at its Conference and Training Facility in Aranguez on Thursday 29th June 2017. Keston Nancoo, Group Vice President, Human Resource Services at Guardian Holdings Limited succeeds Suzetta Ali as head of the ECA. This is Nancoo’s second term at the helm of this premier Employers organisation, having previously served from 2011 to 2014.

ECA Statement on Construction of bpTT's Angelin platform As we continue to navigate this period of economic uncertainty and the resultant declines in Government revenue and availability of jobs, the Employers Consultative Association of Trinidad and Tobago (ECA) finds it unfortunate, at the very least, that Trinidad and Tobago will not be benefitting from the local construction of bpTT’s Angelin platform.
ECA Statement on Proposition of a Carnival Holiday The Employers Consultative Association of Trinidad and Tobago (ECA) applauds the indication by the Minister of Education about discussion and consultation on the proposition of a “carnival week” off for students, however the ECA urges that such discussion must be holistic and wide-ranging. Petrotrin/OWTU Interim Settlement The Employers Consultative Association of Trinidad and Tobago (ECA) wishes to recognise the efforts made to avert the proposed strike action by the Oilfield Workers Trade Union (OWTU).
OWTU proposed strike action – “Reckless!” The Employers Consultative Association of Trinidad and Tobago (ECA) strongly condemns the intended strike action by the OWTU, especially at this time when collaboration and cooperation is of utmost importance if we are to rebuild what is clearly a fractured and damaged economy. The ECA is of the view that should such action be taken by this significant labour union, it will not only be seen by the majority of right-thinking citizens as being highly irresponsible and reckless, but, more importantly, it can be interpreted as a declaration of war against the citizenry of Trinidad and Tobago.
