Dr. Keith Nurse Consultant,UWI Consulting CompanyPRESENTATION: HISTORY, CULTURE AND ABSENTEEISM - Laying the foundation Participants will understand from a historical and cultural perspective employee behaviour and attitude towards absenteeism in Trinidad and Tobago. He is the former Executive Director of the UWI Consulting Inc. and Director of the Shridath Ramphal Centre for International Trade Law, Policy and Services, UWI, Cave Hill Campus, Barbados. He is also teaching faculty at the Arthur Lok Jack School of Business, Trinidad and Tobago. He has served as an advisor to international organizations such as the World Trade Organization, Organization of American States, Africa, Caribbean and Pacific Secretariat and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development. He has also worked as a consultant to regional and international organizations on a broad range of topics including trade policy, diasporas, creative economy, tourism, innovation governance and climate change. He has recently been appointed to the International Union of the Scientific Study of Populations panel on “Population and Development in Small Island Developing States” and to the “Committee for Development Policy”, a subsidiary body of the United Nations Economic and Social Council which reviews the status of Least Developed Countries.
