Industrial Relations and Human Resource Consultant
PRESENTATION: LEADERSHIP AND ABSENTEEISM - AM I THE CAUSE
This session will focus on management prerogatives and how this can lead to absences at work.

Newton George is a scholar-practitioner in the disciplines of Human Resource Management, Industrial Relations, and Conflict Management with approximately twenty years’ experience. At present he is an independent Human Resources and Industrial Relations Consultant.

He is a principal consultant with the ECA and has done extensive work in the areas of:

  • Training and Development for HR / IR professionals
  • Collective Bargaining Negotiations
  • Grievance Handling and Dispute Resolution
  • Lecturing (under graduate and post graduate)
  • Workplace investigations and disciplinary procedures
  • Litigation at the Industrial Court in respect of trade disputes and OSH matters
  • Representation at the Ministry of Labor, and the Equal Opportunity Commission

He formally held the following positions:

  • Ministry of Labour – Labour Relations Officer (Conciliation)
  • National Petroleum Marketing Company Ltd. – Industrial Relations Manager
