This session is an examination of relevant judgments arising out of the Industrial Court of Trinidad and Tobago with an analysis of trends and critical lessons to be learnt.
Participants will be equipped with the necessary knowledge to confidently approach various workplace issues and manage them in accordance with the principles of good industrial relations practice and human resource management best practices.
LEARNING OUTCOME
Participants will not only gain an appreciation for the legal implications and consequences of any breaches in the applicable areas examined but will also be able to identify current gaps in their own organisation's processes and practices.
Ten (10) judgments will be examined in each session, and copies will also be shared with participants following the session.

Akida Mohammed holds a degree in Sociology and Economics from the University of the West Indies and has been trained by ILO in Conciliation and Mediation, Joint Union/Management Negotiation Skills and Facilitation of Union/Management Negotiations. She has over twenty (20) years of experience in the public and private sectors in Trinidad and Tobago. She was the Registrar of Trade Unions - responsible for the Trade Union’s Act and audit of all Trade Unions, Senior Conciliator at the Ministry of Labour, Examiner with the RR&CB (Registration, Recognition and Certification Board).
